Every Monday, I see #meatlessmonday and #meatfreemonday get thrown around freely. Bloggers share new vegetarian recipes, restaurants feature vegetarian dishes, and food lovers post pictures of their meat-free dinners. Until today, I’ve only followed this campaign in the most casual of ways – by jumping on the bandwagon when I happen to have a meat free Monday (i.e. I open the fridge to cook dinner and have no meat in it).
I typically eat at least a few meals a week that are meat free. I really enjoy eating vegetables, and for the most part, when I cook, the meat is only to complement the other ingredients in the dish. But today, I’m making a conscious decision to start going meat free on Mondays! If Paul McCartney does it, then so can I.
