Sunday Islington has an incredibly friendly vibe and is a favorite brunch spot. The menu is fresh and seasonal, and has something for everyone!
It only seems fitting to dine at a restaurant called Sunday on Sunday. This is a spot I plan to return to time and time again (even not on a Sunday!). Everything on the menu sounded, looked and smelled delicious -- we gawked at the food served to the tables around us rather than talk to each other, and it was an amusing domino effect to see others seated after us in turn gawk at our food.
Sunday has an incredibly friendly vibe. We sat in the back courtyard, which had several small tables surrounding a giant tree. It felt like dining in the backyard of a friend's townhouse. One of the other diners had brought her dog, and the little pooch comfortably lazed in the shade of the tree. I can't wait until next time, when our puppy, Kili, will join us for brunch too!
On the weekends, Sunday opens at 10 AM. We arrived by 11 AM and there was already a long queue out the door. We waited about 40 minutes for a table, but because Sunday is situated on a beautiful quiet street, it was a chance to catch up with my friend on the shaded sidewalk before all the food-gawking commenced. The restaurant doesn't take reservations, so I wouldn't recommend having brunch here in a hurry...not that that's usually a problem. Who would try and hurry over brunch?
