This Blackberry Ginger Mocktail is a beautiful and delicious sparking drink for brunch. It's perfect for everyone, especially for me because...I'm PREGNANT!! And this has now become my morning drink - ginger, honey and lemon to help settle my morning sickness, and blackberries to add plenty of antioxidants.
We've got news. Game on, Fauchon!
If you haven't already met Fauchon, let me introduce you. Twice a week, my husband writes a pretty hilarious (but I'm biased) letter to our future (and until recently, imaginary) kid, Fauchon. Jonathan calls this project, Life With Your Mother Baba's Fieldnotes.
It all started one evening when we realized Jonathan's parents, who never shared much about their past lives with him, were in the same position as we are now - thirty, married without kids, thinking about careers, and living in London. So he started writing letters (posts) to Fauchon about our own lives and relationship.
I like to think of Fauchon as a little bun in my oven and so it would have been cute if I could have made some sweet sticky buns to share Fauchon's arrival with you, but alas, our Fauchon doesn't seem to share my love for food yet.
In just fourteen short (long?) weeks, Fauchon has made an impression in the form of morning sickness and barf bags. So I apologize for being a bit quiet on here, but I haven't been able to look at, think about, cook, bake, photograph, eat, write, or do anything related to food for the past few weeks.
The one exception is this Blackberry Ginger Mocktail, which is now my morning drink of choice. I love the ginger, honey and lemon in it, all which helps settle my stomach. And the blackberries add a tart sweetness and plenty of antioxidants.
We'll see if Fauchon can start to enjoy food a bit more, otherwise, you may be seeing a plate of saltine crackers, my other daily breakfast option, on The Worktop soon. Let's hope it doesn't get to that.

Oh my gosh, I just linked though to your hubby's site...so funny. What an interesting idea to write to Fauchon! BTW I must tell you how much I love that name...:). Perhaps I'll name my kid Laduree. This mocktail looks so refreshing. Hope you feel better soon girl! ;)
Tina Jui says
Haha, Laduree and Fauchon could be best friends. Can you imagine if they started a food blog or show together? :) I'm glad you checked out Jonathan's site! He is so funny on his blog, but sometimes I can't believe the things he writes about. He never shows me before he posts, and it's always a shock to see what he dare put on it!

The mocktail looks amazing. Unfortunately, blackberry season just got over here.

Even without the blackberries, it's a nice refreshing drink with just the lemon and honey. Thanks for the kind wishes!
