Living in London, sometimes I’m not sure what season it is. I’ll wake up one morning and it’ll be sunny with frost, and the next day it’ll be cloudy and in the 50’s.

Is it fall? Or winter? Or some weird in between?

To honor this eclectics, I present to you a Chai Frappuccino Recipe made with coconut milk.

It’s a drink that is both a refreshment and a treat, dairy-free but creamy, and cool to drink but also warmed with spices. Inspired by Starbucks frappuccinos, you could call this a vegan Starbucks copycat recipe.

Start the morning right with this Chai Frappuccino recipe

As our household has been dealing with some dairy allergies, I’ve been experimenting with other milk alternatives. This Chai Frappuccino recipe uses coconut milk drink (note: not coconut water!), which itself is also rich in calcium, and vitamins D and B12.

Better yet, the creamy nature of coconut milk drink enriches this Chai Frappuccino recipe with a richer texture. The coconut and chai flavors mingle well together, giving this frappe a more nuanced taste than if one were to use cow’s milk. It also means this frappuccino recipe is vegan.

Coconut milk and chai give this frappuccino a rich taste

While straight coconut milk can get a bad rep for being very fatty, coconut milk drink is obviously diluted. However, for those who prefer to get the full effect of the rich creaminess of coconut milk, top off this Chai Frappuccino with some coconut cream!

Hi Abby, you can often find them in the grocery stores next to the coffee and teas. You can also order from Amazon – look up Monin Chai Syrup.
