This Peanut Butter Apple Toast is an easy to make breakfast toast recipe that is perfect for weekday mornings. It is healthy, kid-friendly, and parent-friendly too, making this a go-to breakfast for the entire family.
When my toddler eats, he eats. With one swift sweep with his spoon, he mixes everything on his plate together. And then picks up his bowl and dumps it onto his plate.
My husband and I are often left just exchanging shifty wide eyes with each other.
"Does that actually taste good?" we both wonder as our toddler just sits there and continues minding his own business, mixing together his dish.
Or sometimes he doesn't even bother to mix things up in the bowl. A half chewed apple lingers in his mouth as he shoves in a piece of toast.
And while he's hoarding the toast in his mouth, he adds in a spoonful of oatmeal then demands some peanut butter (how a little mouth manages to hold so much is beyond me).
Enjoy peanut butter and apples for breakfast with this recipe
We eat about 2-3 servings of toddler leftovers each day, and I've actually discovered that my toddler is a wizard in the kitchen. Give it up to his culinary flair for this Peanut Butter Apple Toast.
I've swapped oatmeal for granola and added a bit of honey, but otherwise this is all him. I had watched him mix all these ingredients together himself enough times that I finally just tried it myself. And here we are, this is an amazing breakfast toast recipe!
Peanut butter and apples are long time besties. So there isn't anything particularly inventive with this recipe. But let's give peanut butter and apples another stage to shine on by putting them on toast.

You can make this on plain sandwich bread, but a loaf of sourdough bread will hold up better under the weight of the peanut butter and apples.
A breakfast toast recipe that is healthy, kid-friendly and parent-friendly
We prefer to use a rye sourdough, an all-natural crunchy peanut butter, a crispy tart apple, and a nut and seed granola (like this recipe). But as always, I encourage you to experiment on your own worktop with your personal favorites!
If you dare break apart the peanut butter and apple friendship, this DIY Almond Butter would work beautifully in this breakfast toast recipe too.

Tried this with pears instead of apples and a mixed nut butter. So delish! Thanks for the wonderful idea.

Hi , I found this recipe today from you and your little toddler .. I have been a vegetarian for a while now but I had not been concentrating on how important it is to eat the right food groups as we think often with an emotional head.. then your body after a while starts to suffer .. so I was looking to inspire myself and here it is.. your toddler clearly knows what his body wants:) Emma

Your toddler sounds so cute! I was the complete opposite and HATED my food being mixed (if I'm truthful I still do!) Still...on to these toasts. They look delicious. Your photos really have my mouthwatering!

Great to have a toddler inspired breakfast, and I have to say it looks like a tasty combination. I find peanut butter is something that is much tastier when served with other flavours, and can't help thinking that apple a great choice. Easy, tasty and filling.
