These breakfast recipes are perfect for when you are lacking in fresh ingredients and need some pantry cooking or freezer cooking ideas. You can make many of these breakfasts with long lasting ingredients.
Are you looking for some breakfast recipes that use pantry and freezer foods? If you are out of fresh ingredients such as eggs and milk, don't worry.
I've put together a list of delicious breakfast recipes that mostly require pantry goods and freezer goods. For the few that require perishable goods, they are long lasting items, such as sweet potatoes.
Honey Granola
If you have one staple granola recipe, make this it. This recipe is so good just to munch by the handful. It uses very simple ingredients you probably have on hand (and it's healthy!):
- Oats – rich in fiber
- Nuts – a great source of protein
- Fruit – provides more fiber and plenty of vitamins
- Honey – a natural sweetener instead of refined sugar
If you have some long lasting milk, it makes a delicious crunchy cereal alternative too.

Vegan Cinnamon Breakfast Muffins
We love the delicious cinnamon scent that fills the kitchen when these Vegan Cinnamon Breakfast Muffins are in the oven.
This recipe uses a flax egg, so you can make it if you don't have any eggs. And I always use a milk alternative (use one that you can store in the pantry (like this one) instead of fresh milk.
If you love cinnamon, don't miss this delicious and easy to make muffin recipe that requires only pantry ingredients.

Slow Cooker Oatmeal
The trick to making this super creamy breakfast is to use canned coconut milk. Hopefully if you dig around your pantry, you'll find a can of coconut milk hiding in there.
This breakfast is also super easy to make, and you can make it overnight in a slow cooker. I share tips for how to make this in an Instant Pot too.

This Vegan Oatmeal Pancake is one of the pantry breakfasts that we make over and over and over again.
This pancake is a real treat for the whole family because it’s healthy and delicious. And the recipe is a real pleasure for me to make because it’s easy and simple to cook.
Top it with some raisins or nuts if you are using only pantry ingredients.

Farinata
Farinata is a delicious savory crepe made with chickpea flour, also known as gram flour. If you don't have a bag of gram flour in your pantry, it's pretty easy to buy online.
Chickpeas are packed full of good stuff, and with each bite of the farinata, you’re getting a dose of protein, iron and fiber. Since it’s not wheat-based, it’s also gluten-free.
I top this with fresh veggies in the linked recipe. But it's delicious on it's own, or with a smear of crunchy peanut butter for a true pantry breakfast recipe.

Almond Milk Rice Pudding
Serve it hot, and this Almond Milk Rice Pudding will warm you up right through. It reminds me a bit of eating oatmeal or porridge for breakfast, but it's a good alternative.
Top it with nuts, dried fruits and honey for a true pantry breakfast (ignore the blackberries in the picture).

Strawberry Chia Seed Jam
We always keep frozen strawberries in the freezer because it's so handy. Not only can you make smoothies with them, you can easily make a batch of this strawberry chia jam!
This jam is also much lower in sugar than most traditional jams, and you get the added benefits of chia seeds.

Sweet Potato Hash
Ok, this breakfast recipe isn't completely pantry friendly, but it uses long lasting ingredients that you might have on hand anyway. And since it's so good, I wanted to include in just in case.
You'll need:
- Sweet potato
- Olive oil
- Bacon
- Butter
- Onion
- Maple syrup
- Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, pepper, and garlic
TIP: While bacon usually already has a long life, I often stick a pack in the freezer anyway.
