Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink for Ultimate Coziness (GF, Vegan option)

If you’re looking for something cozy, this Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink is exactly what you need! It’s delicious in the morning as a coffee substitute, and comforting in the evening when you need to wind down and relax. You can think of it as a hot chocolate made with pumpkin, or a pumpkin spice latte without the espresso. In either case, don’t skimp on the whipped cream ;)

Lately, I’m obsessed with Hygge. The most common translation of this Danish word, pronounced “hoo-ga” is “coziness”, but from what I can gather, it doesn’t quite fully capture the meaning.

Think of sitting by the fireplace while wearing thick socks, or a dinner gathering with friends drinking hot stew around a rustic table. Hygge encapsulates those moments.

It’s something I’ve been trying to create at my own home lately. As I write this, the puppy is snuggled on my lap against my baby bump, and I’m sipping on a mug of this Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink.

This Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink will make you feel warm and cozy

We’ve lit a scented candle, so there’s a bit of yellow glow in the corner of my eye and the faint sweet smell of pine. It’s all quite perfect, though I think I might need to just shut down the computer, relax and enjoy the hygge.

Don’t worry, before I do that, I’ll leave you with the recipe for this Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink. You can think of it like a hot chocolate, but made with pumpkin. Or as a pumpkin spice latte, but without the espresso.

Or you can think of it as it’s own thing – a Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink that’s sure to bring hygge to your home.

Enjoy this Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink as a coffee alternative, or as a way to wind down the day

It’s perfect for this time of year. If I were only still young enough to go trick-or-treating, I am sure I’d love a mug of this when I was done running around the neighborhood (hint hint from all the kiddos out there)!

And one last thing I must leave for you. If you are a pumpkin spice fan like me, you need this pumpkin spice cookie butter in your home! With this, transform any toast, pancake, waffle into an addictive pumpkin spice treat.

I really hope you are able to enjoy some pumpkin for breakfast this season!

This tastes great, but I find it too thick to drink… any ideas on how to get it less thick and more like a liquid without losing flavour?

I just mixed the cream in the mixture because I’m too lazy to actually whip it. That thinned it out a bit. This is a great way for me to use my kabocha squash. Yum!

Thanks for the recipe Tina! It turned out wonderfully using almond milk and a combo of brown sugar and maple syrup. I can’t wait to make it again, as it’s such a great autumn drink and way more affordable than buying a pumpkin spice latte three times a week. :-) I’m getting ready to reblog it on my personal blog, and will include a link to this page when I do.
